Mariana Dean is a foreign rights consultant and literary agent specializing in international licensing for a wide range of titles—including philosophy, history, Catholicism, literature, and children’s books—alongside select nonfiction in entrepreneurship, self-development, finance, and Bitcoin. Based in the Richmond area of Virginia and fluent in Portuguese, she assisted the licensing of books to Portuguese-speaking markets, particularly Brazil. Mariana began her career in architecture, earning her bachelor’s degree before transitioning into publishing in 2019, where she worked as an editorial and executive assistant. Since then, she has helped many books come into existence, contributing to select editorial projects in both Brazil and the United States, and the translation licensing of many more books.

Mariana began specializing in foreign rights in 2022, when she joined a Brazilian publishing group with 10 imprints, helping them acquire international titles for the Brazilian market. Over two years, she facilitated the publication of more than 100 books from the U.S. and Europe. This hands-on experience shaped her approach to rights management, blending editorial sensibility with strategic oversight and cross-cultural communication. With a keen editorial eye and a practical understanding of contracts, royalties, and cross-cultural communication, she ensures that quality content is thoughtfully and efficiently brought to new audiences.

In 2025, through her company Lifelong Studies LLC, Mariana launched a new chapter: offering dedicated foreign rights representation for U.S. and European publishers seeking a trusted partner in the Portuguese-language market. Her mission is to serve as a cultural bridge—bringing value-driven content to global readerships and advocating for books that inform, uplift, and endure. With a refined editorial eye and a passion for art, history, theology, philosophy, and entrepreneurship, Mariana brings both professional clarity and personal care to every project she represents.
